Dog Behavioural Training
Pawsome Puppies will come to your home and do an assessment of your dog and how it reacts in its natural environment. We will tailor a management plan for your adult or senior dog to correct any behavioural issues. Some of the issues that can be addressed in this session are; obedience training, barking, walking difficulties, dominant behaviour, jumping, separation anxiety, pulling on lead, toilet training, nervousness, digging, respecting boundaries, aggression towards other dogs or humans, reactive behaviours and rescue or foster dogs not settling in. This appointment is constructed to educate the dog owner as to why their dog is acting/reacting the way they do and what can be done to correct it. We will customise a training plan that the owner can follow to achieve the desired results. This appointment is recommended for adult, senior and rescue dogs and runs for approximately 3 hours.

Obedience Training

This session will teach you to create a communication pathway between you and your dog by utilising the dogs smell, sight and hearing. Pawsome Puppies will teach you how to train your dog to listen for words of command or learn hand gestures to associate with a sound to obtain the desired result. In example: teaching your dog basic commands, like sitting and staying to more complex obedience like developing a strong recall. This session takes approximately 1-2 hours.

Rehabilitation Training

This appointment is generally undertaken by owners of rescue dogs. Pawsome Puppies is able to work with the dog and the dog owner to rehabilitate rescue dogs who can be showing signs of aggression, fear, trust issues and reactive issues. This session is approximately 3 hours. Each dog will be assessed on a case by case basis and some behaviours may require more than one session to combat. Although we do our best to keep it to a single session, this is sometimes not possible depending on the severity of the behaviour.

Second Chance/Council Compliance Training
At Pawsome Puppies, we understand sometimes your dog gets itself into trouble with your local council. This can be in the form of many issues such as aggressive behaviour, or nuisance dogs. As all behaviours that your dog is showing are learnt behaviours, we can work with you and your dog to combat the problem and ensure that you are complying with council orders. This session runs for approximately 3 hours. Each dog will be assessed on a case by case basis and some behaviours may require more than one session to combat. Although we do our best to keep it to a single session, this is sometimes not possible depending on the severity of the behaviour.

Rescue Dog and Foster Dog Training

Rescue Dog and Pound Dog Training
This service can be done in the rescue centre or pound, as well as once the dog has found it forever home.

In pound training; Pawsome Puppies can come to the pound or rescue centre where the dog is located and train all of the people involved with the dog to rehabilitate it prior to the dog being adopted. The benefits that come from this is the dog doesn’t feel like it is being abandoned or shunned from a pack and the dog’s adoption potential will be higher. This service is also available to new owners as transition training so you can bond with, and start off with a trusting companionship your dog prior to taking the dog home.

At home training; Ideally, if you are adopting a dog, Pawsome Puppies will be able to come to your house prior to your dog arriving to do a dog set up and preparation assessment. If this is unable to happen, that’s okay. We are able to come into your home and do a behavioural assessment and complete a tailored plan with you that can combat any behavioural issues that your new rescue dog may display. This session runs for approximately 3 hours. As each dog will be assessed on a case by case basis, some behaviours may require more than one session to combat. Although we do our best to keep it to a single session, this is sometimes not possible depending on the severity of the behaviour.

Foster Dog Training
This session is designed for people who take on dogs in foster care. Because of the diverse range of problem behaviours that can come with a foster dog, Pawsome Puppies will do a case by case assessment to advise you on the best way to deal and combat any behaviours that your foster dog is displaying to help the dog be the best version of itself prior to adoption. This session runs for approximately 3 hours. As each dog will be assessed on a case by case basis, some behaviours may require more than one session to combat. Real World Training
We know that you want your dog to be as much a part of your family as the humans, but like humans, outside the dogs home is a whole new world and we need our dogs to behave appropriately. Pawsome puppies can help you to train your dog in social situations such as, park etiquette, cafe etiquette, beach etiquette, travelling with your dog, moving house and any time you take your dog outside their regular home. This session takes approximately 1-2 hours.
